The Story Behind The Water Dance Method
My own journey into this work began through personal transformation.
Years ago, I found myself struggling in my marriage and feeling caught between family dynamics.
Like many people, I searched for answers through books, courses, healing modalities, and personal development.
Yet something still felt incomplete.
Everything changed when I discovered Family Constellations.
For the first time, I began seeing how unseen family dynamics and inherited patterns were influencing my relationships, emotions, and life experiences.
The awareness that emerged through this work transformed my family and ultimately transformed my life.
Later, during my own facilitation practice, something happened that would change my practice in ways I could only imagine.
One day, as I was preparing to leave for a client session, I heard a quiet inner whisper:
"Take the bowl."
At first, I hesitated.
It wasn't part of my plan.
It wasn't something I had prepared for.
But I had learned to listen, so I trusted the guidance and brought the plate with me to do a session with the floating figures inside a bowl of water.
During the session, as my client began speaking the healing sentences, something extraordinary unfolded.
The figures started shifting in the water.
Almost as if an unseen intelligence was rearranging the story before our eyes.
I watched in amazement.
So did my client.
At one point, she looked at the constellation and said:
"You have no idea how accurate this is for my family dynamics."
What was being revealed through the water reflected her lived experience with remarkable clarity.
By the end of the session, something had changed.
Her shoulders softened.
Her expression became lighter.
And she shared that she felt more at peace and more connected to herself than she had in years.
That experience stayed with me.
Not because it gave me answers.
But because it revealed a stronger possibility.
I realized that when we stop trying to control the process and learn to trust what is emerging, the water has an extraordinary way of revealing stories that words alone often cannot express.
That single session opened the door to years of exploration, observation, and practice.
As I continued facilitating Water Constellations, I noticed something important.
The facilitators who created the deepest impact were not necessarily the ones with the most techniques.
They were the ones who had learned to trust.
Trust themselves.
Trust the water.
Trust the story being revealed.
Trust the intelligence guiding the process.
I began to understand that the difference wasn't technique.
The difference was in my relationships.
Relationship with themselves.
Relationship with the water field.
Relationship with the system.
Relationship with Universal Intelligence.
The Water Dance Method was born from that understanding.
It emerged from a desire to help facilitators develop the same trust, presence, discernment, and partnership with the field that transformed my own practice.
What Is The Water Dance Method?
The Water Dance Method is Patricia Yiu's proprietary teaching methodology and facilitator development pathway for Water Constellations.
It honors the foundations of Family Constellations and Water Constellations while guiding facilitators through a transformational journey of developing:

This is not a new constellation modality.

Hi, I'm Patricia Yiu
I am Patricia Yiu, a Holistic Therapist, Water Constellations Facilitator and Teacher, and the creator of The Water Dance Method.
More than anything, I am a woman who has walked this healing path myself.
I am a widow, and a mother of three boys, and it was within my own family—through the chaos, the love, the breakdowns, and the breakthroughs—that I discovered the transformative power of ancestral healing.
What began as a personal search to understand the patterns repeating in my marriage, with my children, and even within my own body, led me to the world of Family Constellations and, eventually, to the profound wisdom of Water Constellations.
For the past 10 years, I have had the privilege of guiding hundreds of clients and students from around the world in uncovering the invisible dynamics that shape their relationships, self-worth, emotional well-being, and sense of belonging.
Along the way, I have completed more than 10 professional certifications in holistic healing modalities, including 60 hours of Family Constellation training and 45 hours of Water Constellation training.
I am also a contributing author to the Woman Rise and the Portuguese anthology Mulheres Que Fazem a Diferença, where I share my personal healing journey and my passion for helping others reconnect with themselves.
Over the years, my work naturally evolved into creating The Water Dance Method—a facilitator development pathway that honors the foundations of Family Constellations and Water Constellations while helping practitioners cultivate greater presence, trust, discernment, and partnership with the wisdom of the water field.
Today, I live in Michigan with our three sons, where I continue to facilitate sessions, teach, and train practitioners from around the world.
I believe healing begins the moment we stop running from our stories and start listening to what the system is trying to show us.
Through The Water Dance Method, I help facilitators and clients reveal what is ready to be seen, deepen their trust in the wisdom of the water field, and open the door to greater clarity, freedom, and meaningful transformation.
